These works were undertaken by Schwarz Excavations Pty Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Maas Group Holdings.
Aurizon required the installation of an additional passing loop to create sufficient capacity on the branch line to meet the required additional volumes to service the opening of the Meteor Downs South Mine, an open cut coal mine west of Rolleston. Schwarz was engaged to undertake the construction of the 2.5km siding.
