As part of Aurizon’s FY25 Asset Renewals Goonyella Formations Program, Schwarz Excavations was engaged to deliver the construction of the Winchester rail formation in Central Queensland. The project formed part of Formation Package A and focused on improving formation integrity, drainage performance and long-term track reliability.
The works involved the removal of existing track infrastructure, reconstruction of the formation layers and reinstatement of rail assets, delivered within a tightly controlled possession window.\
