This preventative maintenance program was a large-scale civil task designed to ensure the long-term integrity and accessibility of the Aurizon rail corridor. Spanning hundreds of kilometres, the project highlights our ability to execute high-volume grading programs with precision, even when navigating the logistical challenges of varying terrain and unpredictable weather conditions.

The Scope

  • Preventative maintenance – comprehensive access road grading to a standard three-blade width
  • Successful completion of 474 kilometres of grading for the FY25/26 maintenance program
  • Operational reliability to ensure safe, year-round access for Aurizon maintenance crews and rail operations
  • Successfully navigated significant wet weather delays by adapting schedules and reallocating resources to maintain momentum
  • Demonstrated elite operational efficiency by delivering the full 474 km scope ahead of the planned timeframe and under the projected budget
  • Significantly improved road conditions and corridor safety, providing operational teams with reliable access across the network
  • Maintained consistent grading and drainage standards across all 474 km, despite varying ground conditions and soil types
  • Implementation of enhanced safety protocols, including mandatory spotters for single-machine operations to ensure constant communication and zero on-site incidents
