SP1 Red Mountain Formation & Turnout Renewal

The Project

The Red Mountain Formation Renewal was a high-intensity rail infrastructure project delivered within the Goonyella Rail System. Focused on structural integrity and long-term network reliability, the project involved a comprehensive formation reinstatement and the strategic replacement of the Red Mountain 7A/B Turnout. By addressing unsuitable materials and upgrading ballast and capping layers, our team significantly enhanced track stability, ensuring the corridor can continue to support heavy-haul operational demands with reduced maintenance requirements.
